Luke 15:17-19 KJV

And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! [18] I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, [19] And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

One of the hardest things we have to do sometimes is to realize the position we are in. The lost some had to come to his self, and realize he was in a hogpin. It was at that point that he knew he needed a change. The way is was going was the wrong way. Jesus offered himself as the way the truth and the life. Because he knew we would try the wrong way. So he gave himself as the only way to heaven. The lost son had found himself at the bottom of life. No friends, no money, and no help. He needed to go back to his father's house to find what he needed. On the way home he came up with his words, but when he got home he found his father waiting for him. Ready to welcome him home. God is ready to welcome you back home. But you have to take the journey to get there.
