A lost sheep, a lost coin, and a lost son.

As I was studying my Bible, I came across this title for Luke chapter 15. And I began to think about that title, my heart began to become heavy, and excited all at the same time. For each one of the stories that unfolded. They each were very similar.

  1. They each had multiple of something

  2. They cared about those items deeply.

  3. They lost one of them.

  4. They were broken because of losing it.

  5. And they wanted that one thing back.

The stories lay out a description of the hurt of the loss. And the effort to get it back. With the lost sheep. Jesus says ,What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? The hurt of the loss was so great that he left the ninety and nine to go find the one that was gone.

Then he also spoke of the woman losing that one piece of silver, Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? The hurt of the loss of that one piece she searched the house all over. Then the Lost son, he spoke of the younger son leaving home. Not only did the Father lose something but so did the younger son. But with all the similarities of loss between these storys. There is also similarities in the rejoicing when they are found. The rejoice was great with each story having a moment of celebration with friends because something so important was lost then found. Thou my heart was heavy thinking of the loss. But I had moment of rejoicing knowing that they had found the important item.

The rejoicing over one sinner that comes to the Lord is so great that they rejoice in heaven Luke 15:7 KJV

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

It doesn't matter how far you go or how dirty you get. The rejoicing over you coming to the Lord is so great before the angels. Luke 15:10 KJV

Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

The Lord wants to save you know matter how bad you have been or how dirty you have gotten.
