Why I come to church

Hebrews 10:24-25 KJV

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: [25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

I sat the other day looking at a picture I had taken in the church before anyone had shown up. As I looked at all the empty pews I thought to myself, why do I come to church? Not thinking in a way of discouragement, but just thinking why. I don't come to church because I'm perfect, I don't come to church because I got it all figured out, I don't come to church because I got it all together. I actually come to church because I'm NOT perfect, I don't have it all figured out, and I don't have it all together. I come to church because I know that I'm lacking. I'm not perfect and I won't be until I make it to heaven. That's why I come to church. Because I need help, I need God to move in my life. I needed a savior. Luke 5:31 KJV

And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I have not always done right by God, but God has always done right by me.

We need one another to make it through this life. We need encouragement and that is what the church offers.

People are getting out of church for so many reasons. And I could list them. But I'll say this the devil would love to give you some reason to stop going. 1 Peter 5:8 KJV

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: he would love for you to be out in the world trying to fight him alone. That is what lions do they seek their prey alone without the rest of the flock.

We as a church are to help, encourage, lift up, exhort, and love one another.

Quit looking for a reason not to come to church and acknowledge how much you need church.

No matter who you are, or where you have been, there is always a seat for you in the house of God. Come see what the Lord has in store for you
