Proverbs 13:15 KJV
[15] Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
Some of my most memorable experiences as a kid were when the Fourth of July would come. I loved shooting off fireworks, all the colors and the noises excited me. I remember us as a kid going out playing with those little sparklers that had the metal handle. I thought they were so amazing. The way the flames would change colors and all those white sparkles would fly off the end. We would take them and write in the air with them. Making words with them that would last for what seemed like a few seconds and then disappear. It was some of the most exciting times. But it nevered failed those sparklers had a bad side. After the fire went out and all the pretty sparkles was done the metal was still extremely hot. And of course, we kids would burn ourselves. And the pain was so bad and it would last for days. It would be sore and blister. Which would ruin the rest of the night. And the adults always seemed to say the same thing “play with fire you are going to get burnt”
As I thought on this memory the verse came to me, the ways of a transgressor is hard. Many people today are leading a transgressors life, going against God on every angle. Not wanting to listen to what God has to say to them. But rather going the ways of the world. They are not concerned about time ending, nor of the judgment that will come. The Bible tells us that we can not serve two masters. Romans 6:16 KJV
[16] Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
We know that whatsoever a man soweth that shall he reap! Galatians 6:7-8 KJV
[7] Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. [8] For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Sooner or later playing with sin will get you in trouble.
